The land reform in principle is the right thing to do especaily in countries such as Namibia and South Africa where majority of Africans still linger in poverty. Land is everything! But the way it was executed in Zimbabwe it was flawed from the word go!

In Zimbabwe the cronies of Mugabe own huge tracts of land and only a small portion of of land is really distributed to the war veterans ( and by the way some war veterans are said to be 18 years old, that gets you thinking.)

Land reform needs to take place but in orderly way that benefits those who ARE CURRENTLY DISADVANTAGED.

On the issues of whether Mugabe is a hero or not, there numerous publications written by black patriotic africans on how Mugabe manipulated, tortured and maimed fellow politicans one such example is Joshua Nkomo. Apart from the education in Zimbabwe the hastily conducted land reform is one among many of Mugabes flawed project.

OK OK Boeties. The forum started on Mugabe’s alledged mansion and western propaganda end towards this point we make all kinds of wild statements about land, western propaganda and fuzzy logic asumptions on whats’ cooking and who chased the Bushmen of the land and was then chased by others and where can we lodge our complaints now so everthing can be right tommorrow.

I catch myself often that I tend to believe things as they are. I also try to remain as objective as possible and would be lying to myself if I believe that I am. I’ve also being the recipient of this photos of Mugabe’s mansion and initially was schocked to see this extravagance. I cannot verify wheteher it in fact is his modest little home or not. Question is does it matter? Should anybody after seeing this pics hate him more or envy and repect him more because they have another oppinion of the man. Sitting here next to Zim and having never been to the country anything we hear and cannot verify the facts will be believed by us. Depending of what we believe in as what is wrong or right in Africa or Zim or even in Nam we’ll make a choice and then try to support our arguments even if we have to make loud noises like kids on a playground just not to hear another and maybe better argument. That is childish and I choose to not listen to such noise.
What is the question? Is something wrong in Zim and if so what? Who’s fault is it and what should be done about it? If the things of the past led to the troubles of today is retribution going to make us feel better? Now that we feel better because we corrected wrongs of the past how long is the good feeling going to last? If the hang over of the victory party subsides how are we now to improve on our situation or can we blame somebody else to feel a bit better again. When will it stop?
