Question Where the Humans is Miss Namibia?

Is it just me or is it a tendency that should the incumbent Miss Namibia not hail from a specific tribe(s)(white or Oshiwambo), the business world and the Government as well as the people do not cast enough spot light on her so as to make her as little visible as possible? What do you guys think? is it to make it look like girls from the above mentioned groups look or seem more competent to represent us? jux wondering....

This is a tough one. I wonder if most of us possess the right amount of pride and love for ourselves and what is intrinsically ours---all the small things that when brought together at once make-up what we are and what we stand for. Basically, we all beautiful and special in our own unique ways. However, the yardstick utilized for beauty pageants is always highly relative and subjective. Therefore, only those who had mustered the pride and the right ego may take a chance. Given its subjective nature, it is fair to create a workable solution, universal rules to govern the judgement process as a whole. Nonetheless, in the absence of a healthy atmosphere that could allow for such a compromise, one will end up posing a question of the kind of nature that Juikk has just asked. Then others may perceive it to be miskien voorbarig and stout, neh.

    juikk,

Pity you ask about it only now that Lischen has handed back her crown. If you can gather enough support you might just be able to influence the "appointment" of Miss Namibia 2008 .........

No brother. The initial selection of the top 10 is done by a group of pre-judges out of the 1st 25 girls who were screended based on the appearance and content of their "CV's" if you could call it that. The final judging is done by judges representing the main sponsors (generally). It could happen that the judges has some personal favourites and choose to select somebody from a particular backround or ethnic origin. I think the main aim for the judges should be to select someone from Namibia who can best represent to country on an international stage. That order is of course as clear as mud since the perception of the judges could differ. Unfortunately for girls who meets those requirements but has little or no experience of modeling and the catwalk has an automatic backlog. I try to see it this way. The beauty peagants are nothing more than entertainment. The best entertainer stand a good change to win no matter from which backround. Of course she'd have to whish for world peace , Do good things for poor people and all the other good, positive worldchanging ideas.
I do think that there could be some bias in the selection of Miss World, Universe based on what's happening in the world today. My assumption is and I mean no disrespect, Michelle McLain was chosen after Namibia's Independence, was it to show the world we've arrived or was she just better. I choose to believe she earned it. Maybe if things change in Zim we may see another Miss Universe or World from this continent soon. If not it may be Miss Britain or America if Obama makes it. Excuse my mumblings but I was just wondering.....

Talking Klipkop, you are funny :)

Its good to see everything is and has been politicized. From this you can derive what is most important for people.

Why not focus on the Maslov piramide and everything will fall into place. This seem to be much easier other then to focus on this patty-type off issues.

Just a thought. No hard feelings. Okay, Klipkop
