Default Namibia seems like a very promising nation

As a white person from the southern US, it amazes me that Namibia seems to welcome people of all races -- despite the occasional speech by your President, and despite your history of racism.

I think this approach will bring much happiness. I was raised in a very racist environment during civil rights in this country (the US), and no one seemed truly happy -- white or black. The blacks of course got the worst end of it because they were the victims of the oppression, but whites lived in anger and fear and couldn't relax either. It was a very terrible time.

Yet, it's very different now. We have a black African President (elected overwhelmingly by whites since blacks here only make up 10% of the population), and all the races seem to genuinely enjoy each other's company -- not 100%, but probably 98%. I hope for the same for Namibia. It's just so much better when people support each other, and let go of their prejudices. Happiness and advancement for all.

I'd very much like to visit one day for an extended vacation. The Namibians that I know here in the US are very hospitable and kind people.

    Best wishes.

Thanks, Shawn. The majority of people generally get along whatever their race, don't they? One small (or not depending where you sit) between the US and us is that your Rresident seems to genuinely like, or at least not have any beef with, white people. Maybe it's because he has a white mother, who knows. Our current President doesn't say much about these matters. But our former President certainly does not like white people, and misses no opportunity to say so. He's full of anger towards whites and definitely has issues. Good thing he's moved on (we all hope) because it does not help at all. Do come and visit us, you'll be surprised.
