Default Upgrade to new community platform

Our community is now running on the latest and - as far as I can tell so far - greatest version of the vbulletin community platform.

As you can see, a lot of work remains to be done to change the look & feel and get all the navigation elements in place, etc, etc..... a job that I hope to complete over the next few days.

Please let me know if you experience any difficulties, and please bear with me while I get the new platform configured and customised.

The new system will take a bit getting used to, as any new thing in life, but I am confident we won't look back very soon.

Enjoy and your feedback is as welcome as it is necessary!

Good effort, Admin! The new interface is slick and clean and all the functions are where I expect them to be. But am I the only one or is the site a bit less responsive? I can also not find the Africa weather and Satellite views.

Thanks for the feedback Comrade007. I've tweaked a whole bunch of settings on the server. You should find it much more responsive now. Could you let me know, please?

Really really nice new interface. What I appreciate about hellonam.com is that you guys are always trying to improve things and don't stand still. Sometimes too much change is not good, but in this case I approve. It would be nice to have the picture back on the home page and some of the stats that used to be there. Overall: 8/10 for upgrading.

Speed is no problem for me. First time I loaded it took some time but that's probably because the browser needs to download java stuff and stylesheets? After that it was good.

looks good , ads are small which i appreciate.

l iike the color scheme, layout is good except i would like to see an improved window for the newest topics and replies.
If it was me i would swap the Forums List for the newest topics and replies .. in other words left goes right , right goes left.
your host speed is still not the greatest but not horrible as i have seen it in the past.

More active members willing to take a chance of saying what's on their mind and giving opinions would be nice.

    Otherwise spot on
    good job admin

THanks for your feedback, Omer - much appreciated. I agree with you and have swapped the two columns and added a New Threads block as well. Apart from New Postsblock it's now also possible to quickly check new Threads. One advantage with the new blocks is that they truly releft new items, and not if voting has taken place on a thread, which bumped a thread back to the top in the old site. I'll be tweaking the performance ettings on the server to see if some more speed can be squeezed out of it.

I also think you could also expand the width of your web page.
There is a lot of real estate on my screen that is empty.

You would probably would need a community consensus on this issue.

i am using 1440 x 900 .. the default LCD monitor width for my system
