Question Spreading the word about The Shebeen

We currently face the challenge of spreading the word about our free community at the lowest possible cost. We initially thought of running advertisements in local newspapers, but they will be too expensive.

At the moment we're thinking of printing maybe 1,000 small business cards with all the details of The Shebeen and distribute them in the major towns on the street. That won't cost too much.

Another idea is to run a competition where people stand a chance to win N$1,000 if they successfully refer 20 friends and/or family members by means of the referrer link under My Account.

Another is to run an essay competition of, say, 500 words about a really interresting topic and have a panel evaluate the essays and give N$1,000 to the winner.

What do you think could work to attract more people, and welcome them into the Shebeen as community members?

The best way to invite friends and family members is to go to My Account and sending them the link underneath the Invite your friends to join our forum by linking them here via the following link box. This URL contains your referrer ID and keeps track of how many users register as a result of you sending them the link. It'll allow your friends and family members to register and credit you. We'll soon run a competition based on the number of successful referrals to The Shebeen, so get started now.

Dear Shebeen and all other members (yes, I can be formal and serious, lol!!!!!!)

They say easy come, easy go, but it is not as simple as that. With my big mouth and all I have found a place where I am comfortable! At least I am more than just another "nickname" or "number" on an anonymous community/board.

I'd love to take the N$200 I have won and splurge on NB's best products!!!! That would leave me with the mother of all hangover-overs. So, for my selfpreservation:

I HEREBY OFFICIALLY AND IRREVOCABLY DONATE THE AMOUNT TO THE SHEBEEN TO BE USED AS PER QUOTE ABOVE OR ANY OTHER WAY THAT IS FOUND SUITABLE!!!!!!

Now, Shebeeners and Shebeensters! I have taken the first step ---- you take the next, please!
