Who will be SWAPO Party's next vice-president?

Background to this poll: The founding president of Namibia, Sam Nujoma, announced in October 2007 that he would not be seeking re-election as head of the ruling SWAPO Party. Nujoma indicated his wish that the country's current president, Hifikepunye Pohamba be elected the party's president. It is expected that his wish will be heeded. With Pohamba elected as the party's president, his current job of vice-president will be up for grabs at the party's upcoming congress in November.

Well, The Namibian carried the headline (and I quote) "Hage named heir apparent"(unquote).

That should make it pretty clear to everybody that the lost son, former Prime Minister Hage Geingob, has returned from "Siberia" and post-independence exile and has moved a step closer to becoming the "Prime Minister" of SWAPO, when the Politburo named him as the sole candidate for the party's vice presidency.

The Politburo's decision last week to put forward only one candidate for each of the top two positions in the party - President Hifikepunye Pohamba (President) and Hage Geingob (Vice President).

Could well be that our next president will be from a minority group in the country .........

Done deal - it'll be Geingob. Whether he will then replace Pohamba as President remains to be seen. In the meantime, I'd be interested to hear what Geingob has to say about the new Humtenya party, seeing all other SWAPO's are baying for blood. Just show how little political maturity there is on the part of many Namibian politicians. After all - it is a fundemantal democratic right to form a party. Judging by the howling and threatneing behaviour on the part of even some Ministers, the new party seems to have rattled nerves.

Start with Shipanga SWAPO_D where is today? comes the two Parties for Nghiwete and Ilenikelao where are they today. Come COD now one seat, even tribal APP will soon disappear in political arena I’m telling you, SWAPO is the PEOPLE and the PEOPLE are SWAPO make no mistake.
SWAPO is a uniting factor, it united all Namibians irrespective of their tribal, color or ethnic group, SWAPO is more then that and is there for all peace loving Namibians, I can bet you if you want to feel you are a really Namibian just joint SWAPO there you will feel relieved.

There will be no any history concern Namibia without mentioning SWAPO and the founding Father Dr. Shafiishuna Nujoma.
