When pigs (continue to) fly – part 4
Last November when I completed the last instalment (part 3), I was wise enough to add “for now”.
I instinctively knew that I could trust our fragmented , dissolute opposition to get up to more inane shenanigans.
Obviously and as usual, the first thing they did was to, again, question the veracity of the poll. Now, that is already par for the course. They have done that every time and it has not brought them anything except emptier pockets and less credibility.
All 9 of them started out to boycott the National Assembly, but along the way avarice and greed (or really empty pockets and bank accounts) got the better of some and they rejoined the august house with their tail between their legs.
Meanwhile, the court case foundered despite the the big guns they brought in. It was rejected because they used “African Times” when handing the papers. Too little too late. Instead of taking it on the chin like a man, they started to re-whine and took the issue further – wasting more money; money they do not really have.
And now the latest. Under “leadership” of the Pally for Kakistrocracy and Regress (and probably regret) the 9 valiant nonentities want to form a coalition – obviously because they see that they will have to muster something to oppose Mighty SWAPO in November. Not all of them fell for the trick, though; Garoëb knows that his seats are secure and sees no reason for a coalition. The Clown Prince of SWANU probably sees things the same way and the DTA should be careful, too. They have already lost one of their most capable members and a coalition may even mean that they could lose more.
It is all a trick by the “new “opposition – that community of has-beens and wannabes.
More meanwhile. As this is being written, I was made aware that our resident Human Slights Kommissar has been prodded by his pallies so stir the election issue further.
Now even Phil sees a 5th column in the country and I quote “The fact is that failure to expeditiously deliver the judgement is fuelling widespread negative public speculations that the judgement is being deliberately withheld for political expediency and or due to undue interference from an invisible political authority in the country.”
I wonder if there is not a different reason. As long as there is no verdict the applicants can still proclaim “We have been cheated!” Once the court has pronounced itself on the issue the whole country will know the truth!
So, it is their own interest to delay the verdict for as long as possible.
