    Default SWAPO website

It may be of interest to note that Swapo Party and the SPYL have re-activated/activated a website.

These can be respectively found at:

    Swapo: SWAPO Party

SPYL: The Swapo Party Youth League

    Dear Mindfactory

    rise to the bait
Fig. to respond to an allurement; to fall for an enticement or fall into a trap. (Alludes to a fish coming up from deep water to seize bait.) You can get him here easily. Tell him that there will be lots of food and he will rise to the bait. He rose to the bait and did just as he was expected to do.

    rise to the bait
to react to something that someone has said in exactly the way that they wanted you to react, usually by becoming angry (often negative) Anthony keeps saying that women make bad drivers but I refuse to rise to the bait.

The SWAPO website sucks, as everything related to SWAPO does. All they can do on their website is go about lambasting Gwen Lister & The Namibian again.

Pity you're making it a personal thing, mindfactory. See, my gripe with SWAPO is exactly that: The ruling party chooses its online platform to attack individuals and engage in witch-hunts against critics instead of telling the people of Namibia what it itends to do about the myriad of challenges and problems we as a people in a young democratic nation face.

In that sense I am - like you - waiting for specific policy details; for concrete programmes of action; for ideas and programmes. Let us give them a chance and then debate their policies, instead of individuals. That SWAPO engages in these witch-hunts is a sign of its weakness, not necessarily in juxtaposition to any other party, but as a party with a mandate to rule.

To engage in witch-hunts reflects a preoccupation with criticism, instead of a focus on solutions.
"Nothing is complete and thus nothing is exempt from criticism." - James Luther Adams:
