Election Watch - Every polling station is surrounded by a restricted area where political canvassing is not allowed. This area is the ground surrounding the polling station with a maximum radius of 500 metres from the centre of the polling station. Political activities, besides voting, are prohibited within this area; this includes the wearing of party colours and display of campaign material. (Section 101 of the Electoral Act).
