Default NDP Fighting for 'Poor and Voiceless'

The Namibian - THE National Democratic Party (NDP) says it is the voice of the voiceless and would see to it that the rich do not get richer and the poor poorer.

According to NDP president Martin Lukato, the party was already formed in 2003, although this is the first time it is contesting the national elections.

"Our slogan is 'The Hour Has Come' as we fight for the rights of all ethnic groups in Namibia to equally enjoy the fruits of Independence," he told The Namibian on Monday.

"We call on voters to cast their vote for our party as the NDP represents the voice of the voiceless and we want a federal state system of Government where all 13 regions or provinces will have full power of their administrative affairs."

According to the Constitution, Namibia is a unitary state.

The NDP is the first party in Namibia to have a list of four deputy party presidents in what it calls its 'Shadow Cabinet' list. There would also be a prime minister and a deputy prime minister, according to Lukato.
