Thanks Mie1, this might sound funny to you, but am going to ask whose who on this list accept of the King whose 'credentials' are well known....

Have never really looked at UDF as any political challenge in relation to the ruling party, however recent media reports pointed out something quite interesting regarding UDF, being the only party next to SWAPO having a leading role in a given region (Kunenen)....

    juikk,

There is another article in the Namibian of today (Thursday) which may shed more light on your question. Unfortunately, except for some of the people at the top, I don't know the people from a bar of soap..........

Thanks Mie1, will refer to it in due time. On the matter of UDF being the only other party with 'ruling' votes in their own region next to SWAPO with no other party being able to emulate this, I could not help but notice how really under developed such region is. Does this mean it is not a benefit that they have the over hand but instead an unfortunate fact?

This is where one would want to really question the king in command of the Damara Clan. How effective is he really? How is his royal status really impacting on the damara clan. Would keeping him at the helm maybe cost the clan the right to many societal, socio-economic, politic benefits?

We will need to scrutinize this whole party indeed.....does it just babysit the votes of a people who also need to actively start getting involved in debates targeted at those very aspects that render them marginalised? Who is the baby-sitting really benefitting? Do the people of Kunene really have a national voice?
