Ees is a blender: MTV scam so poor Although I stated here before that Ees aka Eric Sell was Namibia's greatest Kwaito artist, I have to retract that statement. It seems he thinks that his fans are dumb and blind.
On his webpage he claims:What? If you read the terms and conditions of the competition, it states that anybody can enter. Just register yourself, upload your video and there you are, you have been "nominated". From there on, people vote on your video and you stand the chance to win a contract with a major label.It has just been announced this morning that the local namibian Kwaito artist "EES" has been nominated at the MTV (Rookie) Contest EUROPE where the winning artist is to obtain a contract with Universal Records.
This is the first time ever that a Namibian artist has been nominated for such a contest on an international level! .....it is now up to the FANS and SUPPORTERS world wide to VOTE for "EES" ...
I mean, really, the whole point of the competition is to attract completely unknown bands. The competition is aimed at newcomers, real amateurs with no previous exposure. And to this competition, EES, with 8 records under his belt, nominated his "International" video, which really looks like it had been produced professionally. (I actually like the song).
And then there are even videos where Ees brags about his nomination. I wanna vomit. How ridiculous is Ees?
Yeslike, dom Duitser van Suidwes, daardie ene! I think he owes us an explanation.

What he is doing is called "awareness creation" or "self-promotion". It is part and parcel of a process called PR .... public relations!!!

i stumbled accross dis thread - coz ek visit the MopaneTree very often,...i really like this site, to still keep me in touch with HOME!
ach ja, that MTV thing,...hahaha people back home just heard "EES" and "MTV" and made a wrachtach TOO big DEAL out of it, some newspapers i heard even said, i was KAMASTACH nominated 4 the MTV Europe Music Awards, haha kak storie, its is jus a "ROOKIE" contest!
when information gets written om my website, it really sumtimes also gets "sold" a bit too heavy - and i must appologize, the word "nominated" was wrogly used in that parragraph, i mean, it is a sort of nomination..haha....but people can ees-y (ly) misunderstand it!
i newwa thought NAm wuld go crazy like that! haha!
on the other hand, I BELIVE soo much in taking NAMIBIAN Music OUT side of Namibia,..and i mean not jus SA, Angola or Botswanna, but - to the "INTERNATIONAL" level, thats wha also in some interviews, i want to give the people in NAm - HOPE! that WE can make it outside, and that we do have something specal in NAM FLAVA MUSIC!
"Mie1" is rite, there is always a lot of "PR" involed in the that industry, i hate it, and try to avaoid is as much as possible, jus try to b myself as much as i can, but media also like to put you in a position where they can write things way different that they actually are! well, we jus got to sit vass,...en keep muwing - en doing what we love doing most! (for me dats music)

en u guys unda stand, and keep supporting NAM Music ( en ALL namibian arists)
i believe that, if ONE of US makes it that side - he will DRAG the rest of the artist along withn him!
