I don't know if you use POS, but if you do, be careful with the installation. The MS website warns of problems........................

Hi Pumba - I've had one problem with a machine that did not have the latest BIOS update installed. The machine kept rebotting after I installed SP3. Once the BIOS was up-to-date, there were no problems at all. If you make sure that your machine has the latest manufacturer BIOS updates chipset drivers and other hardware drivers the chances are very good that you won't have a problem. In fact, I've rolled out SP3 on over 75 machines and have not had a single problem- except for the one machine. It works very well, but as I Say make sure all the drivers and software on the machine are up-to-date. And to make sure, backup personal data (good practice in any case).
IN our organisation we were considering moving over to WIndows Vista Business, but given the improvements of SP3 in terms of security features for Group Policy settings, improved stability and also speed we have decided to stick with XP until the next major version of Windows, which is supposedly coming our way in 2010 in the form of WIndows 7.0. Vista is not a bad operating system, at all if you have at least 4GM RAM and a quad-core processor.
But for our needs and user requirements, XP is a mature, fast, stable, relatively secure, reliable operating system that does what we need it to do. With SP3, even more so.
