    Thumbs up Viva RDP

Let us wish Namibia's newest kid on the block all the best for a bright future.

The time has come to put an end to the SWAPO Party hegemony in every city, every town, every village and every homestead. Namibia does not belong to SWAPO and SWAPO is not Namibia. Namibia belongs to the people of Namibia. There shall be no more no-go areas! There shall be no more abuse of the taxpayer's money for party-political ends. There shall be no more intimidation.

May our Republic become a true democracy, where the rulers are truly challenged by and accountable to those they govern. Let the lines between political parties and the State be firmly redrawn so as to strengthen the long-term development of our young nation, and not jeopardised by those who have married the ruling party with the State as a vehicle of pursuing their own narrow self-interests.

The road is long and hard, and it is frought with obstacles. Those who have enjoyed the privilege of power for too long will not be moved easily, and they will cling to their power. Let us pray the will of the people shall be respected in every city, every town, every village and evey homestead.

There is a place for everyone in Namibia but let it be clear that the future belongs to RDP!

Viva RDP! Viva Namibia! Viva Democracy!

If you support RDP then leave your message of support and encouragement on this board!

Let's wait and see. I'd like to see RDP's election manifesto to get a better idea of how they think they'll be able to solve our nation's myriad problems differently to how SWAPO has been trying to do. But it's a good thing that there is another party. The more, the merrier - although this could further weaken and split the opposition vote.

Yeah! Let's wait for next year's election before we exercise our vocal chords - either for laughing or crying...

    Update!

Despite all the promises made by RDP in recent months I have yet to see anything to impress the h*** out of me.

I suppose the best they can hope for is take away some seats from the all but extinct DTA, some more from the increasingly fractious COD ... and that is already the end of it.

Taking seats away from SWAPO? Dit sit nie in hulle broek nie!!

I think they can safely pack up and close shop. Another "dream" torn apart by the self-importance of individuals pursuing glory, as opposed to the power of collective values and principles.

What happened to COD is what is blocking the formation of a credible opposition to SWAPO. When will we get someone who is able to unite the fractured oppositon parties into oneunit based on shared values and a vision for our Republic? Where is our Barack Obama?

DTA is meeting in Opuwo to release its election manifesto and spout the usual inanities. Taking over from SWAPO, indeed!!!!!! What have they been smoking?

Where will the RDP have its inaugural electoral get-together? Lubango???
