    Default Feeling rich in Zim

A guy in Harare decides to take out all the cash in his bank account to keep it safe under his pillow at home. So he's organised himself a large wheelbarrow and camps outside the bank's branch in downtown Harare for a month, only to go in each day and withdraw the daily cash limit.

On the 30th day he finally has all his cash tightly packed in the wheelbarrow and starts to trundle back home. The value of his wealth had halved by that time, but it was so much the man was happy.

Feeling rich, and a bit anxious about the all the botsotsos in the area and the large amount of money in his wheelbarrow, he quickens his pace. Then, out of the corner of his eye, he sees a figure approach him fast. He feels a strong hand push hard against his shoulder and loses his balance. He lands face down in the rough, stony gravel of the road. Expecting the worst he reaches out in the last moment to snatch a wad of cash from the wheelbarrow and clutches it to his chest.

He sobs: "Leave me just this little, so I can buy my children an egg tomorrow."

The man looks at him, bewildered and tips the wheelbarrow over. Millions and millions of Zimbabwe dollars flatter about. A stream of ofice workers walking past in the evening dazdon't take a second glance at the robber, the man and the cash. Minutes pass, and more.

"I don't want your money", he fianlly says.

    "I'll want your wheelbarrow!"

Feeling rich in Zim is easy; being rich is preserved for Zanu-Pf and their hangers-on
