    Cape Town - The Petroleum Oil and Gas Corporation of South Africa (PetroSA), the country's state-owned oil company, on Wednesday donated R1.5 million to assist those most affected by the recent rains in the Western Cape.

  2. Cape Town disaster response teams start clean up

    Cape Town - The Disaster Response Teams of the City of Cape Town are busy with mopping-up operations across the city following the recent widespread rain which caused localised flooding.

    “Currently disaster response teams are assessing reported affected areas to determine the number of dwellings that have been flooded and 3 600 structures in 23 informal settlements have been verified,” said the municipality on Monday.

    Durban – The Department of Local Government, Housing and Traditional Affairs in KwaZulu-Natal has set aside R4 million to assist the victims of last week’s floods.

    Durban’s South Coasts was hit by floods when torrential rain resulted in certain rivers bursting their banks.
