  4. Mbeki to meet Zimbabwe party leaders in Harare: official

    President Thabo Mbeki will meet Monday with leaders of Zimbabwe's rival political parties in Harare as part of stalled power-sharing talks, a South African government official said.

    "We confirm that the president will visit Zimbabwe today as part of his ongoing SADC (Southern African Development Community) facilitation work," said foreign affairs ministry spokesman Ronnie Mamoepa.

    Pretoria – Finance Minister Trevor Manuel has been appointed as the chairman of the committee of eminent persons which will assess the decision making framework of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
