    Finance Minister Trevor Manuel is among 11 Cabinet ministers and three deputy ministers who have resigned.

    Pretoria - Markets remain calm and almost unperturbed by the announcement of the resignation of President Thabo Mbeki delivered in a televised address on Sunday evening, say economists.

    Parliament - President Thabo Mbeki's resignation may be effective from Thursday, 25 September 2008.
