SADC summit faces boycott if Mugabe attends

Botswana has threatened to boycott the annual SADC ordinary summit if Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe is allowed to attend.
The 28th ordinary summit is scheduled to take place on the 16th of this month in Johannesburg.
Botswana Foreign Affairs Minister Phandu Skelemani says if Mugabe is invited to the summit that could give an impression that he is the legitimate president of Zimbabwe.
Botswana does not recognise Mugabe's presidency and wants Zimbabwe to be suspended from all SADC meetings.
SADC countries are split on the issue of Zimbabwe. Botswana, Angola, Zambia and Tanzania have all said they do not accept the results of the disputed presidential run-off elections.
