For the first time ever, Namibia will have representation at the Junior World Championships for Road Cycling. Held under the auspices of the international cycling federation, UCI, this event is the pinnacle for junior cyclists from around the globe. Normally held in countries with a strong cycling culture, the event takes place in Cape Town, South Africa, as part of the UCI’s efforts to globalize cycling.

Mannie Heymans finished 51st at the UCI Mountain Bike World Championships which took place in Val Di Sole, Italy on Sunday.

Heymans completed the 40,7km event a lap behind the winner, Christoph Suaser of Switzerland. Sauser completed the course in 1:58,26, finishing well ahead of compatriots Florian Vogel, who finished second in 2:01,21 and Ralph Nael who finished third in 2:02,46.
