  1. Year Review - Consolidation phase for Athletics Namibia

    Athletics in Namibia went through a consolidation phase in 2010 with little success on the international stage, but with some new talents emerging for the future.

    Namibia sent a team of seven athletes to the African Athletics Championships in Nairobi, Kenya from 28 July to 1 August.

  2. Benson wins bronze medal

    Johanna Benson won Namibia’s first medal at the Commonwealth Games in Delhi, when she finished third in the final of the Women’s 100m T37 race for disabled athletes on Thursday.

    Benson clinched the bronze medal after finishing third in a time of 14,81 seconds. Katrina Hart of England won the gold medal with a time of 14,36, while Jenny McLoughlin of Wales won the silver medal in a time of 14,68 seconds.

  3. Kaunivi wins National 15km Championships

    Edward Kaunivi of Okahandja won the PriceWaterhouseCoopers National 15km championships for the second year in a row in a time of 51 minutes 31 seconds on Saturday morning.

    Kaunivi beat veteran Luketz Swartbooi in a sprint to the line, as Swartbooi finished second in 51:35, while Johannes Naitembu came third in 51:44.

  4. Bombosch wins MTN Business Off Road Triathlon

    The MTN Business Off Road Triathlon which took place at the Friedenau Dam on Sunday, had a record turnout of more than 160 participants, which was well in excess of last year’s number of 120. Tokkie Bombosch was the overall winner of the full event and winner of the Over 40 category. He completed the 1.2km swim, 22.4km hilly off-road cycle and 8.7km bush run in a time of 2h 14m.

  5. Zealand denounces Kangueehi's election

    The chairman of the Interim Committee of Athletics Namibia (AN), Dr Donovan Zealand insisted that he is still in charge of athletics in the country and denounced a congress in Otjiwarongo last Saturday, which voted Alpha Kangueehi in as AN president.
