Four soccer referees from Namibia will attend a FIFA FUTURO 3 instructors course in Manzini, Swaziland this week.
The Natonal Referees Committee members who will attend the course are the National Referees Chairperson Rudolph Mupiri, premiership referees Arvo Mufeti, Daniel Kamukwanyama and Spike Ngidengwa.
“This course is very important for us because it will instil some sense of new knowledge about the way forward as far as FIFA is concerned in officiating. We will have to plough back that knowledge so that as a country we align ourselves with the rest of the world in football matters,” Mupiri said.
Mufeti and Kamukwanyama will attend the course that will be dealing with the technical aspect of refereeing. Mupiri will attend the course for the heads of referees. Ngidengwa will attend the fitness course and will be able to assess the fitness of the referees as per FIFA regulations.
FIFA’s aim for the course is to ensure that match officials are well prepared for the implementation of the new Referees Regulations that will come into effect next year in April.
The course is scheduled for 11 to 15 October.
