Cricket Namibia will host the Bank Windhoek Ladies Cricket Development Festival in Windhoek from 15 to 17 October 2010.

At the festival the Namibia ladies team and the Under 13 boys and girls teams will play against Botswana at the Union and CCD fields in Windhoek.

The teams will all play 35 and 20 over matches.

During the festival Cricket Namibia development officers will present the Healthy Lifestyles games to the Under 13 teams on 15 October at CCD. The games will address issues like peer pressure, inclusion and stigma, basic nutrition education, HIV/AIDS, alcohol and drug abuse, leadership and teamwork amongst others. The games were developed by a volunteer of UNICEF specifically for the Kwata Cricket Project.

On the evenings of the 15th and the 16th the Cricket Namibia national players will present 45 minute educational talks to the group of players on topics like cricket etiquette, captaincy, field placing, Pro20 strategy, individual roles of players in a cricket team, motivation and other aspects of the game.

On day one of the festival the Namibia ladies team will play a 35 overs match against Botswana at the CCD field from 08h00 to 13h00. The next match at the same venue will start soon afterwards with the boys under 13 Namibia B side taking on Botswana in a 35 over match.

The under 13 girls team will play a T20 match against Botswana from 14h00 at the Union fields on the same day.
