Unam lead DTS

Unam have built up a four-point lead at the top of the Telecom National Indoor Hockey Men’s Premier League log after their 4-3 victory over DTS on Saturday. Unam were pushed all the way by DTS, who led 3-1 early in the second half, but Unam’s experience told as they came back with a late onslaught to win the match.
They are now still unbeaten after five matches and lead the log with 18 points, followed by DTS who are on 14 points from five matches.
The two teams meet in a return match this coming weekend and a victory for DTS will put them right back in the hunt for the title.
Wanderers are third on 10 points from six matches, followed by Windhoek Old Boys on one point from six matches and the X Team who have zero points from two matches.
The Women’s Premier League is a much closer affair with the defending champions WOB and Wanderers battling it out for top honours.
WOB lead the log with 12 points from six matches, followed by Wanderers on 11 points from six matches.
The X Team from Walvis Bay are also still in the running having won their opening two matches for a total of six points.
DTS are fourth on four points from five matches, followed by Unam on two points from five matches.
The Men’s First League is a tight affair with DTS leading Rehoboth on goal difference. Both teams are on 16 points, although Rehoboth have a game in hand.
The Women’s First League is a tight affair between DTS who are leading on 12 points from four matches, followed by WOB on 11 points from four matches.
Meanwhile, Siabonga Martins of Unam is the top goalscorer in the Men’s Premier League with 16 goals from five matches.
Dirk Bason from WOB is second on 10 goals, followed by Ettienne de Villiers of Wanderers and Joseph Kashamako of Unam who are both on nine goals.
Marcia Venter from WOB is the leading goalscorer in the Women’s Premier League with nine goals, followed by Madelyn Lessing of Wanderers on eight and Juanne Louw of Wanderers on four goals.
