Black Leopards Namibian duo of Hartman Toromba and Ephraim Tjihonge’s hopes of retaining their PSL status were dashed after going down by a solitary goal to Bay United in the National First Division play-off at the Woolfsons Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.

In another battle for promotion to the top-flight, Ali Akan’s FC AK played to a goalless draw against Dynamos at the Eldorado Stadium on Wednesday.

Both teams will meet in the second leg at Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on Sunday. The winner of that crunch encounter will face the side that triumphs in the other play-off match involving Leopards and Bay United next week. Leopards and United will meet in the second leg on Sunday at the Malamule Stadium. Kick-off is at 15h00.

AK coach Akan has, however, faith in his charges and believes they can upset Dynamos away from home to keep their chances alive of gaining promotion to the PSL. "I was forced to field a patched up side but we're still in with a chance in the second leg,’’ the former Orlando Pirates coach was quoted as saying on SuperSport’s website.
