So, how much Western influence is in the Libyan situation?
The West should be careful about fly-by intervention in Libya. While it has a moral responsiblity to act in the face of the regime's gross abuses of human rights and possible crimes against humanity (using the full force of the military against civilians) they should think this through before diving in.

Do you agree that the Suez Canal were constructed in April 1859 and were after 1o years completed, on November 1869?
That is not the point, but the illustration might help you to understand and perhaps influence your colonial education.
